Kansas Snowstorm Spring Awakening started out as a plein air painting at Shaw’s Nature Preserve and was completed in my studio. The word was out among my artist friends that the daffodils were blooming, and I went there planning to paint them. But once there, what really caught my eye was this distant field of new spring grass glowing through the bare trees. I felt that was the true awakening of spring and I had to paint it.
Spring Awakening was created with the finest quality pastels available, and with proper care, will retain its beauty and value for future generations. Pastels are fragile materials that should be handled with utmost care. Be careful to never rub or wipe the painting surface, and always display the pastel behind glass. Spring Awakening is matted and framed in a gold and brown wooden frame behind glass. See photo. On small works of art we attempt to ship within 48 hours, but larger works, 18X24 or larger, may require up to seven days for crating and shipping.
